Only about a couple thousand New Hampshire homes and businesses remain in the dark from an ice storm that knocked out power to 430,000 at its peak.

Utilities say about 2,000 customers were still without power last night. They’ve been in the dark since the storm coated trees and lines with thick ice the night of December 11.

Most of the households get their electricity from Public Service Company of New Hampshire, which projects that nearly all of its customers will have power by midnight today.
