The arts in Southeastern Vermont are getting a boost, thanks to the non-profit Next Stage Arts Project.
Next Stage was founded in 2011 in Putney, with the hopes of revitalizing the village center with a program of concerts, film and a spoken word series.
The company is hosting singer-songwriter Patty Larkin in concert this Saturday.
Now entering its third year, Next Stage has hired its first executive director.
Maria Basescu served previously on the board of Next Stage, and has overseen a cultural events production company since 1986.
