A narrow mountain pass northwest of Stowe is closed this morning due to a mishap involving a tractor-trailer truck.
Vermont State Police say Vermont Route 108 has been closed through Smuggler’s Notch in Jeffersonville because of the accident.
It’s the second time this month the road has been closed due to a mishap involving a tractor-trailer truck.
Police say it’s uncertain when the road will re-open, and are recommending that motorists take alternate routes. Work is under way to get equipment in place to remove the truck.
Route 108 through the notch is the most direct route between Stowe and northwestern Vermont.
