The Vermont State Police are investigating the theft of several wooden animal sculptures from an art gallery belonging to Stephen Huneck in St. Johnsbury.

Police say that overnight between Sept. 4 and Sept. 5 someone took life size wooden sculptures of a golden retriever, a black and white cat, a white Scottie dog and a black pug.

A life size sculpture of a black Labrador and a human were also damaged.

Huneck is a Vermont folk artist who draws much of his inspiration from animals.
