Fourteen members of the Dartmouth College community are beginning the process of identifying candidates for the college’s 17th president.

The formation of the Presidential Search Committee follows an announcement in February by James Wright that he would step down next June after 11 years as Dartmouth’s president.

Dartmouth’s Board of Trustees chairman Ed Haldeman said in March that Trustee Al Mulley would lead this committee.

Mulley says the committee’s first task this summer will be to arrive at a vision of the collective aspirations for Dartmouth: its future, its place in higher education, and its place beyond.
