Workers at a St. Albans company that contracts to do immigration work for the Department of Homeland Security have voted against forming a union.

After Wednesday’s vote, two of the four companies that work at the federal immigration center in St. Albans have voted for a union and two have rejected it.

Officials say that on Wednesday, workers employed by Stanley Associates voted 80 to 60 against unionizing.

Workers employed by two Stanley subcontractors, Northrop Grumman Corp. and Choctaw Archiving Enterprise, voted to unionize earlier this year. Employees at a subcontractor, Federal Working Group, rejected the union.
