The second suspect in last year’s killing of a Winhall housepainter could make his first appearance in a Vermont courtroom next week.

Prosecutors say 28-year-old Christopher Kosmalski of Rutland could be brought back to Vermont from Florida as early as Friday and appear in court on Monday to answer the charges against him.

Joshua Gould, the other suspect in the stabbing death of Renato Wieser, was returned to Vermont earlier and pleaded not guilty to a charge of first degree murder.

Court documents say the 27-year-old Gould killed Wieser and the two men then stole valuables from the house and later fled to Florida in Wieser’s car.
