Governor Jim Douglas is putting Vermont on a heightened state of alert, after the federal government today raised the national threat level from yellow to orange, or high.
Douglas says the Vermont Homeland Security Unit will work with federal officials to implement increased protective measures across the state. Vermont officials will increase patrols of the state’s critical infrastructure.
