As winter begins to wane, seed catalogues are arriving in mailboxes, and home gardeners are starting to hatch their plans. Vermont has a number of seed sellers who have spent the winter testing germination rates, so that buyers won’t be disappointed in their yields.

At High Mowing Seeds in Wolcott, VPR’s Charlotte Albright took a tour with owner Tom Stearns and seed lab technician Jeremy Weiss, and sent us this audio postcard.
