Senate Commitee Considers Amending NH Archives Bill

A Senate committee is generally supportive of a bill that requires  New Hampshire governors and congressmen to turn over a selection of their records to the state archives. But the committee has postponed its vote to consider amending the bill.

The legislation was suggested after The Associated Press drew attention last year to the lack of any mandate to saved records for the future.

The bill passed the House in February and yesterday Senators postponed a vote to consider drafting an amendment addressing archive staff capacity and donations.
