The Department of Public Service held meetings around the state recently
to hear what Vermonters had to say about the state’s energy future.
A weekend-long session on energy options was also included in Burlington,
and people were polled for their opinions on energy plans.
In all, over 1,000 people had their say.
But until last night, the meetings skipped over folks in Windham
County — where a lot of people live close to the Vermont Yankee Nuclear
State Senate President Peter Shumlin says he and his colleague from
Windham County heard it from their constituents when the energy meetings
bypassed areas like Brattleboro, and that omission prompted last night’s
energy meeting in that town:
