Senators Talk Campaign Finance Reform

The U.S. Supreme Court recently issued a ruling that drastically changes campaign finance laws, allowing corporations and labor unions to spend an unlimited amount on political campaigns as long as these expenditures are made independently of a specific candidate. Bob Kinzel’s guests are Bennington Senator Dick Sears and Franklin Senator Randy Brock. They look at efforts in the Vermont State House to respond to that decision. Some lawmakers want to update the state’s campaign finance reform law while others feel Vermont’s law is fine as is.
