The funeral service for Major General Reginald Cram – the leader of the Vermont National Guard from 1967 until 1981 – will be held Tuesday in Burlington. General Cram died on Friday.

During Cram’s tenure as adjutant general, the Vermont National Guard was called to active duty in the state more frequently than at any other time.

He joined the 172nd Infantry of the National Guard in 1933. He was mobilized with the Vermont unit during World War Two. General Cram received numerous military awards and was involved in many community service activities.

His eulogy will be delivered by Vermont Guard Adjutant General Martha Rainville. Services will be held at 10 o’clock at the Congregational Church in Burlington.
