Seven people who ran the now-bankrupt Law Centers for Consumer Protection in New York and Bennington are facing federal criminal charges. A grand jury in Rutland issued indictments today on a variety of charges, including mail and wire fraud, interstate transmittal of stolen property, and money laundering.

A 40-count indictment charges the defendants misappropriated several million dollars that had been entrusted to the debt reduction business by its clients.
