Several employees at medical software company IDX are being laid off following its sale to GE Healthcare.

GE Healthcare officials say fewer than 10 information technology employees are expected to lose their jobs. The employees were notified this week.

IDX Systems Corporation was founded by
U.S. Senate candidate Richard Tarrant. He sold it to GE Healthcare for 1.2 billion in January.

Tarrant says he doesn’t think the layoffs will harm his campaign and says the skill of IDX employees will help them to find new jobs.

Congressman Bernard Sanders, who is running against Tarrant, says he’s concerned that more jobs could be eliminated.
