A series of thunderstorms rolled through the region overnight, and the National Weather Service issued severe thunderstorm warnings periodically throughout the morning.
VPR’s Eye On The Sky says similar storms are possible today, especially this afternoon and evening, producing strong to damaging winds, hail, and heavy downpours, along with frequent lightning.
If threatening weather approaches, seek immediate shelter. Heavy rains in some locations Monday night, combined with the potential for more, has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Flash Flood Watch through this evening. Rapid rises on brooks, streams, and rivers may cause sudden changes and localized flooding.
