On the fifth anniversary of the disappearance of a 17-year-old girl, her whereabouts remain a mystery.

Brianna Maitland, of Sheldon, vanished March 19, 2004 after leaving the Black Lantern Inn in Montgomery, where she worked as a dishwasher. Her 1985 Oldsmobile 88 was found about a mile away, smashed into an abandoned barn.

Four days later, her parents reported her missing.

Police believe she was the victim of foul play.

They say they continue to investigate her disappearance and are conducting numerous interviews related to the case.

The parents have offered a $20,000 reward in the case.

Anyone with information about Maitland’s disappearance or who may be responsible is asked to call Vermont State Police.
