Shoreline residents keep wary eye on water level

Folks with property along the shores of Lake Champlain are keeping a close eye on water levels this spring.

The lake was about a half foot above the flood stage this weekend, and there’s more snow in the mountains waiting to melt and make its way downhill.

Residents with year-round homes, as well as those with summer places, along the lake shore have been moving things out of harm’s way and making sure things like propane tanks are well secured.

South Hero resident Laurie Huse says it’s the annual spring dues people pay for living in a beautiful place.
