Authorities say the 86-year-old father of Governor Peter Shumlin is in stable condition after a car crash.
State Police say they were called to an accident with someone trapped inside off Route 5 in Dummerston Monday afternoon.
They found George Shumlin trapped inside the SUV he had been driving. Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to remove the driver’s side door.
Shumlin was taken by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where’s currently in stable condition.
