Vermont’s ski resorts are gearing up for the winter by hiring seasonal workers.

Okemo Mountain Resort and Killington Resort held job fairs on Saturday.

The resorts are looking for people to fill dozens of open positions.

Some people came from as far away as New Jersey to seek work in the ski business.

The resorts are looking for workers in a range of positions from food service to reservations to housekeeping and lift operations.

Killington Communications Manager Tom Horrocks says locals have a good shot at landing a job. The resort’s foreign workforce will acount for 12 percent and 15 percent of its employees this year.
