Snow days causing problems with school graduations

New Hampshire school districts are scrambling to make up for snow days to avoid changing scheduled high school graduation dates.

Some districts are asking the state Department of Education permission to hold Saturday classes or to give some schools a break on the days required each year for classes.

Litchfield school officials closed school four days due to weather, leaving the high school two school days short of the 175 needed for seniors to graduate. The district wants the state to forgive one day. It plans to make up the second day on May 10 so seniors can graduate June 13.
