Snowstorm Brings Back Winter

Heavy snow in every part of the region has made driving a challenge all day on Tuesday.

There were accidents during the morning commute – and there were more again in the afternoon.

In Marlboro, a tractor-trailer went off Route 9 in the morning and has remained in a ditch all day.

State police say it will be removed Wednesday morning after the snow stops and the road is cleared.

Accidents also forced state police to close portions of Interstate 89 in Waterbury, I-91 in Springfield and Route 103 in East Wallingford.

They all reopened, but state police said driving remained hazardous into the evening.
