Some enthusiasts say sleds will run well into spring

One winner in this season’s endless winter is bound to be snowmobile enthusiasts.

April is fast approaching and in places across northern New England there’s still several feet of snow in the woods.

Al Goulet of Vermont’s Brighton Motor Sports says the trails are as good as they were in January. He says there’s enough snow to last at least three or four weekends.

But Vermont law requires that the state’s 6,200 mile trail network close by April 15.

Bob Meyers of the Maine Snowmobile Association says the only problem is that snowmobile clubs have already used up their money for trail grooming.
