(Host) In spite of Dean’s unsuccessful presidential bid, his campaign staffers and volunteers remain enthusiastic about what they have called a movement.
One of those staff members is Dean’s former New Hampshire campaign director, Karen Hicks. After Wednesday’s speech, she reflected on some of the successes that resulted from the campaign.
(Hicks) “Well, I’m sad but also amazingly proud of what we built together in this campaign. We really created a new way of doing politics that was based on participation and not treating voters as consumers. And so there’s so many great things that came out of this campaign that I feel really proud to have been a part of it.”
(Host) Hicks said that people get involved with the hope that there will be a win, but that it just didn’t work out that way this time.
