Construction is expected to begin next summer in Winooski on the Chittenden County headquarters of the Community College of Vermont.
The trustees of the Vermont State Colleges approved the plan on Friday that will have CCV move from downtown Burlington to a 2 acre acre site near downtown Winooski.
The move into the 70,000-square foot building is scheduled for 2010.
The $17.5 million project will be paid for with bonds issued as part a $72 million capital plan for the entire Vermont State Colleges system.
The state is going to use the office space now occupied by CCV for the Agency of Human Services.
