State officials are offering help to those who suffered losses from last week’s strong storms.

They’re especially interested in helping people who are having difficulty processing insurance claims.

They’re advising people who need some guidance or assistance to call the insurance division of the state Department of Banking, Insurance, Securities and Health Care Administration.

The division’s consumer help line is available by telephone at 1-800-964-1784.

State officials say they’re trying to be proactive.

A number of communities suffered damage last week from the high winds in the storm. Rutland was especially hard hit.

Governor Jim Douglas visited towns yesterday in Windham County that suffered flooding.
