State officials say warm weather is causing dirty air in Vermont, and they’re warning elderly people and young children to limit their activity.

The warm weather – temperatures in the 60s – is causing elevated levels of particulate matter all over the state.

The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources says that in Rutland and other places where air stagnates, local air pollution on top of the particulate matter may cause unhealthy conditions for sensitive groups, as defined by a national Air Quality Index system.
