Stormwater lawsuit dismissed

A lawsuit demanding release of state government documents about how stormwater regulations were drafted has been dismissed.

And the Vermont Natural Resources Agency has agreed to release the records to the environmental group that wanted them.

The Conservation Law Foundation sued the state when the agency refused to release documents.

The agency argued that the records were privileged from release because they were produced as the state was deliberating the new policy.

But the Legislature has passed a new law taking away that privilege for itself and the administration, leading the agency to drop the fight and release the records.
