The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is taking public comments this week on a $220 million expansion at the Stowe Mountain Resort. The ski area plans to build a 35-acre ski village and 18-hole golf course at the base of Spruce Peak.

The resort is seeking an Act 250 state land-use permit for the project. The Corps will take written comments until May tenth and hopes to issue a permit decision by June. The Vermont District Five Environmental Commission has not yet ruled on the Act 250 permit.
