The presidential race has spilled into New Hampshire’s Senate race, with both candidates asked during a debate to defend statements made by their party’s nominee.
Republican Senator John Sununu said yesterday he agrees with John McCain that Barack Obama’s tax plan amounts to socialism. He says Obama wants to redistribute money to impose his own sense of fairness.
Democrat Jeanne Shaheen didn’t answer directly when asked if she agreed with Obama’s call to spread the wealth. But she said she supports his plan to replace a system that favors the wealthy, special interests and corporations with one that helps the middle class and small businesses.
