The Vermont Attorney general’s office says an arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect in the 1982 killing of a woman in Barre.

Theodore Caron Jr., who is 47, is due to appear in court on Wednesday on charges of killing Pamela Brown.

Brown’s body was discovered behind St. Monica’s School in Barre on July 17, 1982, the day after a downtown Heritage Festival that had closed much of downtown Barre.

Caron is being held at the St. Johnsbury Community Correctional Facility on unrelated charges.
