Talks will resume tomorrow between the Chittenden East Supervisory Union school board and the union to try to end the teachers’ strike.

Jon Harris, the leading negotiator for the union, says he is optimistic that a settlement will be reached.

The 300 teachers in the five-town district have been on strike since Thursday, when the two sides failed to settle on a new contract.

The teachers and school board differ on the amount teachers would pay for health insurance premiums.

About 3,000 students in Bolton, Huntington, Jericho, Richmond and Underhill are out of school.
