An agreement has been reached between striking teachers and school administrators in the Rutland Southwest Supervisory Union, bringing a six-day strike to a close.
Both sides met Wednesday and talks went on late. The teachers union say in a news release Thursday that the deal came after almost 12 hours of talks with a federal mediator.
The strike had closed five schools. Classes were expected to resume Thursday.
Negotiations between the teachers and boards of the Rutland Southwest Supervisory Union broke down last week over work rules, such as the time teachers spend with students.
The district is made up of the towns of Ira, Middletown Springs, Poultney, Tinmouth and Wells.
