Vermont’s top federal prosecutor says a man has been sentenced to time-served for his role in a scheme to distribute Oxycodone in the Rutland area.

Prosecutors say Ian Turner was sentenced last week in federal court in Burlington. Turner was also fined $7,500.

Court records say Turner was associated with the leader of a group of individuals who distributed oxycodone pills in the Rutland area.

Prosecutors say Turner worked as a courier who drove from Vermont to Boston to pick up illegal drugs that were for distribution in Vermont.

Turner, who now lives in Texas, was arrested in July of 2011 and pleaded guilty in March.
