Truck driver killed in crash with school bus

U.S. Route 7 in Danby has reopened following a fatal accident involving a pickup truck and a school bus Wednesday morning. The driver of the pickup truck, Robert Lewis of Brandon, was killed in the accident. Lewis was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Officials at Rutland Regional Medical Center say eleven students were taken to the hospital. All of the students’ injuries have been described as relatively minor.
