Vermont State Police in the Northeast Kingdom are investigating shootings that happened over the weekend at two churches in Derby. Nobody was hurt.

Sgt. Larry Smith says six shots were fired at Assembly of God Church in Derby sometime late Friday or early Saturday, shattering a glass door. The next night, four shots – also from a .40 caliber pistol – were fired at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church, also in Derby, shattering its front glass doors.

Smith said he believes the shootings are related, and that the same gun was used.

Rev. Laurence Wall, pastor of Assembly of God Church, says whoever shot at his church needs to be going to it instead.
