Two people died in a crash this afternoon on Interstate 89 near Exit 9 in Middlesex.
According to State Police, the driver and passenger were killed when their vehicle left a northbound lane and crashed into a rock ledge in the median.
Police say speed may have been a factor and an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
Police are withholding the names of the victims until next of kin are notified.
Exit 9 was expected to be reopened at this hour.
