A Vermont Air National Guard jet lost a missile during training at the Burlington International Airport yesterday.

The unarmed missile fell from the F-16 as it was taking off this afternoon, forcing the airport to close for 30 minutes.

Officials say the missile stopped on the runway and the jet finished its take-off. No one was hurt in the incident.

The Guard says an investigation will try to determine why the missile fell.
