The trial of Michael Jacques, who is accused of the kidnapping and killing of his 12-year old niece, Brooke Bennett, isn’t scheduled until September. But the high-profile case has been getting a lot of media attention. And in the past few weeks a flurry of legal rulings have been handed down by District Court Judge William Sessions. Seven Days reporter Andy Bromage has followed the case and updates us on the implications for jury selection and whether federal prosecutors may seek the death penalty.
