Affordable housing advocates gathered in Burlington to hear about what the University of Vermont had to say on the topic of affordable housing.

Dozens of people turned out yesterday in Burlington for the meeting, in which First Unitarian Universalist Minister Roddy O`Neil Cleary read a letter sent by UVM President Daniel Fogel.

Fogel says any affordable housing project the college undertakes must be consistent with UVM’s mission, which includes recruiting and retaining high-quality people who need affordable housing to work at UVM.

Vermont Interfaith Action intends to press UVM for a progress report on affordable housing by summer’s end.
