The University of Vermont is hoping to diversify its student body by recruiting more international students.

The college says it’ll work with Study Group, an organization UVM calls a global leader in international student education and recruitment.

UVM expects to triple the number of international undergraduate students from the current level within four to five years.

The first group of 50 international students recruited through cooperation with Study Group is expected next January.

UVM says Study Group has academic preparation programs and a recruiting network that extends to more than 130 countries.

UVM president Tom Sullivan says diversifying the school will enhance the quality of the UVM experience.
