When the UVM men’s hockey team ended its season in the first round of the NCAA tournament against Wisconsin it capped a great ride for the Catamounts. But it wasn’t the end of the road for Senior Brayden Irwin. Irwin was signed days later to a two-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. But the Leafs didn’t wait for him to graduate before putting him on the roster. Irwin spent the last 6 games of the NHL regular season suited up as a Leaf.
Now he’s back at UVM, trying to readjust after life in the big time. He spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about his time in the NHL and back on campus.
