A University of Vermont student who was found dead in his off-campus apartment is being remembered as a friendly, funny, competitive and offbeat young man.

About 150 people gathered at UVM’s Billings Student center on Wednesday to share stories about Jamie Love.

The 20-year-old from Armonk, N.Y., studied engineering and mathematical sciences and ran cross country and track at UVM.

The university said his suite mates called 911 early Sunday morning after they couldn’t wake him. Police have found no indication of foul play. The Burlington Free Press reports that the investigation into his death is continuing.

Love’s family has planned a memorial service for Saturday at the North Greenwich Congregational Church in Greenwich, Conn. UVM’s Catholic Center expects to hold a service on campus at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
