(Host) Congressman Bernie Sanders has obtained a half million dollar appropriation to improve services at a Veterans’ Administration clinic in Chittenden County. Sanders says the money was earmarked in the recent Department of Defense spending bill:

(Sanders) “At a time when many of our National Guardsmen are in need of primary health care for check ups and so forth, we have been able to secure from the Department of Defense $500,000 for this Colchester VA clinic. This funding will be used to provide health care for the men and women in our National Guard. And by increasing staffing here at the VA clinic, it will also be a substantial help to our veterans who are now suffering from unnecessary waiting lines.”

(Host) National Guard officials say the added money will be used to provide physical exams for the men and women in the Guard.
