Verizon to install ‘pine tree’ cell tower

Verizon has won a state permit to build a stealth cellular telephone tower in the Northeast Kingdom town of Coventry.

The 100-foot tower is supposed to look like a large pine tree. Verizon says even though the tower is supposed to look like a tree, it’ll still extend 40 feet above the natural tree line.

Supporters say cell phone service in southern Orleans County is poor and the signal will improve that.
