A contingent of Vermont Air National Guard members is expected to leave this morning for hurricane relief duty in Louisiana.

About 30 members of the Air Guard were supposed to fly out yesterday for the Gulf Coast, but the glancing blow delivered to parts of the region by Hurricane Gustav prompted officials to reconsider.

But that changed overnight.

Capt. Kate Irish says transportation and logistics were being made in anticipation of Hanna, Ike and other storms that could hit the region.
