Vermont Electric Cooperative Worker Dies

A Vermont Electric Cooperative worker has died in an accident while working on a power line in Essex.

The name of the worker has not been released.

Essex Police Detective Lt. George Murtie told the Burlington Free Press that the man fell onto electrical wires and was killed Wednesday afternoon.

The utility said the work being done was considered to be routine maintenance.

The accident happened on Sawmill Road near the Essex-Jericho border.
