Vermont turkey hunters had another record season this spring.
Despite the rain, hunters took 4,677 wild turkeys in May. That’s up slightly from last year’s record.
Young hunters also had a record season, taking 532 birds.
State wildlife officials say Vermont’s wild turkey population is considered one of the strongest in the Northeast.
