The Vermont Historical Society is displaying two portraits of prominent 19th century Woodstock residents who were painted by a Pomfret native.

The paintings are of Norman and Mary Ann Wentworth Brown Williams.

They were painted 160 years ago by Benjamin Franklin Mason and went up for auction a year-and-a-half ago.

They were restored and donated to the Vermont Historical Society by Lee and Brenda Garsh.
