Candidates for statewide office rely on networks of volunteers and organizers to get their messages to voters – and that effort is supported the candidates’ political parties. VPR’s Bob Kinzel talks with Martha Abbott of the Progressive Party, Ian Carleton of the Democratic Party and Rob Roper of the Republican Party. We’ll talk about the importance of ideology and issues in building the party’s base, how they cultivate leaders in the Legislature and how they choose candidates to run for statewide office.

Listen to the program live on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
